Corporate Strategy

Building a North American rare earth separation platform

Ucore’s strategy is to commercialize RapidSX™, develop rare earth processing infrastructure, qualify separated oxide products, and connect upstream feedstocks with downstream magnet and advanced materials supply chains.

What is Ucore’s business strategy?

Ucore’s strategy is to become a leading advanced technology company in rare earth separation by commercializing RapidSX™, developing Strategic Metals Complexes, qualifying rare earth oxide products, and supporting a more diversified North American and allied rare earth supply chain.

The strategic bottleneck

The rare earth supply chain is not defined by mining alone. A secure supply chain requires separation technology, qualified oxide production, reliable feedstock, downstream customer acceptance, and scalable processing infrastructure.

Ucore is focused on the midstream section of the supply chain, where mixed rare earth materials are separated into individual oxides used by magnet, metal, alloy, defense, electronics, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing customers.

Four pillars of Ucore’s strategy

    1. Commercialize RapidSXâ„¢ – Ucore is advancing RapidSXâ„¢ as a modular rare earth separation platform designed to support commercial-scale rare earth oxide production.
    2. Develop Strategic Metals Complexes – Ucore’s first planned commercial processing facility is the Louisiana Strategic Metals Complex in Alexandria, Louisiana. The SMC will be our first deployment point for commercial rare earth processing.
    3. Qualify rare earth oxide products – Product qualification is essential. We have recently produced and advanced qualification sample material for rare earth oxides, including NdPr and dysprosium, for downstream customer evaluation. Qualification work is intended to support technical evaluation by major permanent magnet and electronics manufacturers.
    4. Build allied supply chain relationships – Ucore is advancing relationships across feedstock sourcing, downstream customer development, government programs, and market access to support a more resilient rare earth supply chain outside of China.

 Near-term priorities

  • Advance Louisiana SMC engineering and commercial deployment
  • Continue RapidSXâ„¢ scale-up and optimization
  • Produce and qualify rare earth oxide samples
  • Secure feedstock and downstream commercial relationships
  • Further develop specialized processing capabilities in Canada for Sm and Gd.
  • Strengthen government and allied market alignment
  • Maintain Bokan as long-term strategic resource optionality
