A North American Rare Earth Separation Company

Rare earth minerals must pass through several processing steps before they can be used in permanent magnets, motors, defense systems, robotics, electronics and advanced manufacturing. One of the most difficult steps is refining, where mixed rare earth material is divided into individual high-purity rare earth products.

Ucore is focused on this midstream bottleneck. The company is commercializing RapidSXâ„¢, qualifying rare earth oxide products with downstream customers and developing its first planned commercial separation facility in Louisiana.

Strategic Funding

Rare earth processing is now a national priority. Ucore is aligned with that mission.

Governments in the United States and Canada are moving quickly to strengthen critical minerals supply chains, reduce dependence on concentrated foreign processing capacity, and support domestic rare earth separation.

Ucore’s strategy is directly aligned with this policy shift. The company has announced U.S. government funding, conditional Canadian government support, DPAS-rated equipment priority, and recognition within broader North American and allied critical minerals initiatives.

U.S. Department of War

US$27M

Ucore has secured US$27 million in total grant funding under its agreement with the U.S. Army Contracting Command-Orlando, including an additional US$4.6 million announced in September 2026 to advance samarium and gadolinium refining.

The expanded program supports samarium and gadolinium process development in Kingston, Ontario, and the deployment of Enhanced Machine A at the planned Louisiana Strategic Metals Complex in Alexandria. This work advances Ucore’s RapidSX™ technology toward commercial rare earth separation for U.S. defense and industrial supply chains.

Canadian Government

C$36.3M

Ucore has announced conditional approval for up to C$36.3 million from the Government of Canada, through Natural Resources Canada and FedDev Ontario, to support Canadian rare earth processing in Kingston, Ontario.

The program is focused on scaling up a commercial processing facility dedicated to the refining of samarium and gadolinium, two rare earth elements important to advanced magnet and defense-related supply chains.

DPAS-Rated Equipment Priority

DPAS DO-B8

Ucore has announced that work connected to the Louisiana SMC has received DPAS-rated status. Under the Defense Priorities and Allocations System, rated orders are given preferential treatment to support national defense and emergency preparedness requirements.

Ucore also announced the arrival of a DPAS-rated long-lead equipment component at the Louisiana SMC, including a 4,000-gallon glass-lined reactor procured under the company’s modified U.S. government funding agreement.
